The Whale Shark swim is an optional extra that you need to pre-book with AW before the tour. The cost is $599 per person and can be added to your final balance payment if this is something you would like to do.

**Important note regarding decreased possibility of a whaleshark sighting**
Whale shark season is March/April to July/August. In August, while each year is different, there is around a 70% sighting success rate. By September, this rate drops lower.

So there are days where they may not be seen and if there are it can be a case of only a few on the reef compared to earlier in the season where we have encounters with several individuals. This can also mean that if we have to share a shark with other companies our groups won’t have as many swims as they may have had earlier in the season. The price is lower to reflect this

On the (big) plus side, August and September mark the height of Humpback Whale season. You may also have the chance to see Manta Rays, Orcas, Minke Whales, Turtles, Leopard Sharks, Dolphins and more.

What you’ll encounter depends entirely on the movements of the animals that day. One day might start with a swim alongside a majestic Whale Shark, while another might feature the thrilling sight of Manta Rays gliding effortlessly through the water, or the awe-inspiring presence of Humpback Whales breaching nearby.

It is a bucket list experience for sure, but we do need to be clear that you need to be able to swim reasonably well to do this. Coming at the end of multiple days of kayaking, it is normal to be quite fatigued. You will have buoyancy assistance in the form of lightweight suits, but you still do need to be able to control yourself in the water with some level of confidence.

Secure Your Booking with a Deposit : A deposit is required to confirm your place. By paying the deposit you are confirming you have read and agreed to Adventurous Women's Terms and Conditions. Please note that deposits are non-refundable, although partial credit may be available. Please see below for more details.

Note: Each tour requires a minimum number of participants in order to proceed. This ensures good value for our guests and supports the sustainability of our small business. Once the minimum is met, we’ll notify you that the tour is confirmed.

If the minimum number is not reached, you will be informed at least 90 days prior to departure, and all monies paid will be fully refunded or transferred to a future booking. Please note that we are not liable for any third-party costs (e.g. flights, insurance, transfers) in the event of cancellation.

Booking Terms and Conditions

In the event that Adventurous Women cancels a tour or is unable to guarantee the departure of the tour due to not meeting minimum required numbers, we will provide a full refund.

Notice of cancellation by you must be in writing, with an email as an acceptable form of communication, directly to Adventurous Women with the following conditions:

90 days + prior to trip departure - Loss of deposit - Partial voucher available*
75 days + prior to trip departure - Loss of deposit
74 days or less from the start date of the tour - Loss of all monies paid
No refund is available after departure of a tour has commenced.

*Where you cancel a multi-day tour booking more than 90 days prior to departure and have paid a deposit, we will issue a $250 voucher for use on a future tour with an 18 month validity date from the start date of the original tour. This voucher can be used towards the deposit on a future tour, or it can be used towards your final payment on a tour. If you are using one of these vouchers to pay for a deposit and if you subsequently cancel that tour, no voucher is available.

No refund is available after departure of a tour has commenced. We highly recommend taking trip cancellation cover through your travel insurer to cover you for unforeseen circumstances that may lead you to have to cancel your participation in the tour.

The trip price includes:

Adventurous Women Tour Leader
Experienced, qualified sea kayaking guides
Double sit-inside expedition sea kayaks with rudder, paddles, PFDs (life jackets)
Snorkelling gear: snorkel, mask and fins, wetsuit in season
Activities as noted in itinerary, including National Park entry and camping fees
5 nights comfort camping and two nights in 4-star accommodation in Exmouth
Camping gear: spacious ‘stand up’ tents, high density foam mattress, pillows, sheets and doona
Arrival transfer (from airport or hotel) on day 1
Departure transfer by shuttle bus, if leaving on day 8
All meals noted in the itinerary
